چکیده
The toxicity of the combination xylene and diesel at a 50:50 ratio on African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) was investigated using static bioassay for 96hrs. No significant difference (P>0.05) observed in Physicochemical parameters experimental water after exposure 24 hours among different concentration gradients controlled unit. Although there an increased variation along gradient 96hours. behavioral responses test fish from 24-96 show normal control. C. gariepinus exposed to 25 ml/l 50 mg/l toxicant showed behavior 48 hours. Afterward, that were active stopped swimming remained while response sudden changes surrounding environment. Generally, higher concentrations such as 100 250 chemicals progressive hyperventilation abnormal like gulping air, erratic movement, very fast swimming, jumping, displaying vigorous jerky movement suffocation, loss reflex. A faster operculum tail beat also with Spiraling. significantly (P<0.05) increase per time compared control group fish. noticeable behavioural recorded chemical. An eco-friendly chemical is within acceptable limits recommended by WHO DPR should be used well stimulation cleaning sustainable biodiversity healthy aquatic

"Toxic effects of 4-nonylphenol on the embryonic development of African catfish Clarias gariepinus (Burchell, 1822) ''
The present study investigated effects of environmental relevant concentrations of 4-nonylphenol (0.05 to 0.08 to 0.1 mg/l) on the reproduction and embryonic developmental stages of catfish (Clarias gariepinus). To determine the effect of 4-nonylphenol on reproduction; catfish were exposed to three concentrations of 4-nonylphenol in a flow-through-system during spawning period (some for one wee...
متن کاملAffinity purification and partial characterization of IgM-like immunoglobulins of African catfish, Clarias gariepinus (Burchell, 1822).
IgM like macroglobulin from bovine serum albumin (BSA)-immunized African catfish C. gariepinus was purified by affinity chromatography and partially characterized. The molecular weight of this macroglobulin was 840 kDa, as estimated by gel filtration chromatography. Purified macroglobulin was analyzed using SDS-PAGE under reducing and non-reducing conditions. The molecular weight (MW) of heavy ...

The effects of K. africana fruit (Lam. Benth), family bignoniaceae, were investigated on the sperm quality of C. gariepinus, (mean body weight, 396.05±7.04). Five diets with crude protein of 40% were formulated with different inclusion levels of K. africana powder. D1 (control) has 0 g/kg of the powder, while D2, D3, D4 and D5 has 50, 100, 150 and 200 g/kg of the K. africana powder. A total of ...
متن کاملEnvironmental monitoring and health risk assessment of African catfish Clarias gariepinus (Burchell, 1822) cultured in rural ponds, India.
Water quality monitoring of Clarias gariepinus culture ponds (n = 27) revealed poor physico-chemical conditions and metal contaminants in fish tissues (n = 324). Human health risk assessment for some heavy metal contamination delineated low risk in general except for Aluminium (Al), Iron (Fe) and Lead (Pb) which accumulated significantly (p < 0.05) high in tissues. Health risks values were 6.3 ...
